Famous Last Words (9/5/13)

An inspirational message from the River Walk, Thank you brother … food for much thought … I think I would like to have “See you in the Kingdom of Heaven” on my gravestone.

THE RIVER WALK

Read: Ecclesiastes 10:1-12:14, 2 Corinthians 8:1-15, Psalm 49:1-20, Proverbs 22:20-21

That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad. (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)

Relate: “Thomas Jefferson still survives.” Those were supposedly the last words of John Adams. It is debatable, though, as some claim all that was truly intelligible was “Thomas Jefferson” and the rest was the presumed thought. Either way, it was wrong. Jefferson had died three hours earlier. His son John Quincy Adams had him beat with his last words some 22 years later, “This is the last of earth. I am content.” Both beat out Pope Alexander VI who said, “wait a minute…” but apparently heaven, for him, was a bit too impatient.
